Press Release:

Jodavino tour nationally this August to support the release of 'Good to be Around', the third single to be taken from the album, Deep End.

In the space of just two years Jodavino have gone from playing a 12 week residency in Cyprus Avenue to supporting Roxy music and Lionel Richie in the Marquee in Cork, winning admirers such as Bryan Ferry & Morrissey along the way.

Jodavino were formed in July 2005 by brother and sister duo, Joe and Aoibheann Carey. The two joined forces with Joe Philpott on guitar, Humphrey Murphy on bass and Trevor Kiely on drums to complete the lineup.

The group's debut album 'Deep End' was completed in March '06 with Art O'Laoire at the engineering helm, enlisting mixers Joe Chester (Future Kings of Spain, Nina Hynes), Ber Quinn (The Frank & Walters) and Herbie Macken (Neil Finn of Crowded House, Gavin Friday) after three productive months of recording. The final chapter of the process concluded when George Marino (Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay) mastered the album in Sterling Sound, New York in February '06. The album was released in September '06 to much critical praise.

Since the album launch, Jodavino have toured Ireland to wide acclaim, selling out the Everyman Palace Theatre in Cork to cap a fine year of live shows in late '06. The band's first single 'Move Me' was chosen as single of the week on Tony Fenton's show on Today FM and voted Cork Song of the Year on Red FM. The band completed a video for 'Some Love' in March '07 with Irish filmmaker Cathal Watters and acclaimed video director, Chipps Chipperfield (The Beatles, Paul MacCartney). Jodavino's first foray into Europe was a great success when they played five dates in the Czech republic in March, and the band are set to broaden their horizons even further visting large swathes of Central Eurpoe over the coming months.

Catch the band live as they bring their breathless show to all corners of Ireland in August '07. Support on the tour comes from the excellent Joe Echo (Ex-Leya front man Ciaran Gribbin) - www.joeecho.com.
