Jodie

Since his days as a toddler, Jodie has always known that he would be an entertainer. During his childhood days he would perform comedy routines for his mother and his family. He also sang in the children’s choir for his church. Born Jerome Odie, he is the youngest of 3 boys. Jodie, the name he gave himself during his teenage years, was raised in the Northwest section of Washington, DC. Growing up in an urban area, Jodie had to keep his distance from the street life that revolved around him daily. After High School he vowed to make sure that his newborn daughter would not have to grow up around the same environment that he did. So he moved to Fairfax, VA, a suburb of Washington, DC and has been living in that area since. After graduation, a mutual friend introduced Jodie to a group of rappers and producers. To his surprise they all attended and graduated from the same high school as him. The guys had their own home made studio and loved to make music. Being the only singer out of the group, Jodie was able to show his vocal talents on many of the songs that were being produced and he also got a chance to see what music production was like. Excepting that this was his calling; he decided to invest money and time into his singing career by working two jobs. With this money he purchased important musical equipment. Jodie also spent any free time that he had networking throughout the DC Metro area making the acquaintances of many well known producers and artists who were also trying to establish themselves. After a brief non-official stint with an independent label from Washington, DC Jodie decided to start things over from scratch. In 2004 while in the process of creating new music, he found his current manager. In a year they have been able to schedule Jodie in many performances in various cities throughout the East Coast. Jodie’s first LP, entitled HARMONY will be released in the winter of 2005. With a mix of R&B, Hip-Hop, Pop, and Soul all blended into one Jodie’s voice, sound and style is truly unique. Being able to dance and actually sing, Jodie feels that he is definitely what the industry has been missing. And he is determined to make sure everyone remembers his name.
