Lyrics

You Got Yourself a Man

Written By: Jodi Fodor

Monday man is handsome but he talks too much
Tuesday is married but I melt for his touch
Wednesday is kind but he doesn’t know my mind
Thursday’s hard-working but he cannot unwind

Friday wants to please me, but he’s just a protégé
Saturday boys, yeah, they only want to play
Sunday says loves me, but it’s only as a friend
I finish off a week and then I start it all again

CHORUS:

Looking for Mr. Right one night at a time
Tell me how to fashion what you can’t seem to find
And take the best of every single guy that you can
Put ‘em all together and you got yourself a man

Mama always told me that a man don’t change
Daddy says that shopping for love is kind of strange
Married people know just what to tell the single girl
But they don’t understand cause they’re not livin in my world

Looking for Mr. Right one night at a time
Tell me how to fashion what you can’t seem to find
And take the best of every single guy that you can
Put ‘em all together and you got yourself a man

I’d make him lean--I’d make him strong
He’d say he’s sorry when he’s wrong
He’d listen when I talk
Hold my hand when we walk
He’d be loyal and kind
Why is this man so hard to find

I know you, Sister, cause your story is mine
Tell me how to fashion what you can’t seem to find
Take ‘em one by one and you just don’t give a damn
But put em all together and you got yourself a man

Looking for Mr. Right one night at a time
Tell me how to fashion what you can’t seem to find
And take the best of every single guy that you can
Put ‘em all together and you got yourself a man

California

Written By: Jodi Fodor

I took too much of something and I almost checked out
When I awoke I knew I was in trouble
For having no idea what this trip is about
And living my whole life in a bubble
Went to a shrink although I could not afford him
He said “Sit back. Be glad you’re alive.”
So I did what any sane girl would do -- I ignored him
That’s when I threw my life into drive

And packed up everything I had - it took half a day
And pointed myself west - then I made my way
To California uh ah huh
I’ll gonna stay
in California uh ah huh
I kick my doubt
in California uh ah huh
I might just figure it out
in California uh ah huh

Well, there is nothing wrong with where I come from
I just had to rearrange
There’s just one thing you can count on till the day that you die
And that’s change

We’ve got plenty of that
in California uh ah huh
Oh, I wear a lot of hats
in California uh ah huh
I kick my doubt
in California uh ah huh
I-might just figure it out
in California uh ah huh

Some of California’s heaven and some is hell
I think I’ve come to like them equally well
If you’re not too careful you just might touch a cloud
Everything’s allowed……. in California uh ah huh

I’m moving on in California ah uh huh
I wrote this song in California ah uh huh
I kick my doubt in California uh ah huh
I might just figure it out in California ah, uh huh
