"LATIN R&B BEAUTY BARES HER SOUL ON NEW CD"

San Diego, CA -- That voice – it’s sultry and smoky, sexy and funky, soulful and honest and as real as it comes. By the time the first song on Jodi V.’s new cd is over, you realize the San Diego born and raised singer/songwriter is a true music artist and not some talent-less pretty girl cultivated by a record label hoping to sucker music fans with her looks.

Sure, Jodi’s a certified super-hottie with the beauty of a Latin goddess and curves that would make a lingerie model jealous, but she has the voice of an R&B angel and a way with writing songs that are so relatable and real-to-life that fans everywhere can get into what she’s saying.

Jodi V. is about to unleash her street-wise blend of R&B, soul and pop with her first full-length cd titled Seed of Love. Scheduled for a Septmeber 9th, 2008 release by Rotation Music, with national distribution by Universal Music Group, the album features the single “Uh Oh” which radio is already embracing.

On Seed of Love, Jodi V. shows an impressive musical range from the street hip ‘love-gone-wrong’ of “Crazy Chick” to the melodic and mellow “Seed of Love.” In “Let Go,” Jodi breathlessly dissects the emotions found in a broken relationship, while “Uh Oh” features a club-banging beat and Jodi’s taunting and sexy-playful line, “You want it…I got it.”

Seed of Love’s main producer is San Diego’s street famous Etienne. Fingazz (Lean Like A Cholo), David Salas and Shawn Bossick also produced tracks on the cd. Their credits include artists with Sony, Universal, Interscope, Atlantic, Warner Brothers, Capitol and EMI, as well as Top 10 singles and major motion picture soundtrack work.

Jodi describes her music in simple, one-word phrases. “The songs,” she says, are “Inspiring, bright, soulful, comforting, rhythmic, emotional, real and sincere.”

Then it hits you like an epiphany… That voice – it’s sultry and smoky, sexy and funky, soulful and honest and as real as it comes.

By the time the song is over, you realize the San Diego born and raised singer/songwriter is a true music artist and not some talent-less pretty girl cultivated by a record label hoping to sucker music fans with her looks.

It may sound sentimental, but Jodi V. says she writes, “Real songs, and I write from the heart. I’m a very sincere artist, and I like to purposely write self-less lines that will inspire someone. I want my songs to help them, or touch them in a certain way.”

Jodi V. is about to unleash her “from the heart” blend of R&B, soul, and pop with her first full-length cd titled Seed of Love. Recently released on September 9, 2008 release by Rotation Music, the album features the single “Crazy Chick,” a song written after the tumultuous end of a five-year relationship.

As the daughter of a Mexican musician and a white mother, Jodi’s love of music was fostered at an early age in their multi-cultural home. As a child, Jodi recalls watching her father perform at home and in clubs. Her mother – also a talented singer – encouraged Jodi and her sisters to sing at home and in church. Her first singing performance was an impromptu show she put on for a crowd of about 10 friends and family members on her neighbor’s porch. The song she performed was “These Words I Sing For You” – a bilingual song composed especially for Jodi’s mother by her musician father.

Jodi performed at her school’s annual Cinco De Mayo shows at eight years old, and began singing in the church choir and worship teams when she was 11. She joined a band with church members at the age of 16, and the group performed at churches, sports arenas and recorded two independent albums. A few years ago, she started singing hooks for rappers and producers in exchange for studio time. That led her to record a four-song demo that she posted on her MySpace page while she continued to perform in the San Diego area.

The hugely popular social networking portal was where executives at the 22-year-old Laguna Beach-based Rotation Music label discovered Jodi V. An area rap group submitted a friend request to Rotation Music, and while the label wasn’t terribly interested in the rap group’s music, their MySpace friend list featured an intriguing picture of Jodi V. One click and one song later, the label rep wanted to sign Jodi on the spot.

While she pursues her music dreams, Jodi still works her day job and performs in venues large and small in the San Diego area. Her goals are down to earth: To make a comfortable living as a music artist, to inspire others with her music, and to one day open an animal shelter that will fulfill her lifelong desire to help animals that have been abandoned, abused or neglected.

On Seed of Love Jodi V. shows an impressive musical range from the street hip scorned tale of “Crazy Chick” to the melodic and mellow “Seed of Love.” On “Let Go,” Jodi breathlessly dissects the emotions found in a broken relationship, while “Uh Oh” features a club-banging beat and Jodi’s taunting and sexy-affirming line, “You want it…I got it!.”

“When I write the lyrics, I like writing from a scenario,” Jodi says. “The words are always stemming from emotion, and then it creates a story. Sometimes, one word can create a story within a song.”

Jodi describes her music in simple, one-word phrases. “The songs,” she says, are “Inspiring, bright, soulful, comforting, rhythmic, emotional, real and sincere.”

The songs – and Jodi V. herself – are all those things and more. Her music proves that good-looking girls can do more than just look good. They can also write powerful lyrics and sing amazingly honest and real songs that appeal to a wide range of fans from all walks of life.
