"TVD Premiere: Jodi Valentin, "The Radio""

We have the pleasure of premiering “The Radio” from Jodi Valentin’s forthcoming self-titled EP which is indicative of the romantic vibes often associated with the songstress’s home town. Hit play, close your eyes, and picture yourself above the Hudson with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Jodi’s tunes straddle the line between soul pop and late night piano blues, bringing to mind the compelling vibes of Ella Fitzgerald and The Weepies—dark, mysterious, and absolutely lovely. - The Vinyl District

"Jodi Valentin - What You Desire"

Jodi Valentin spoke to me from the moment "For the Movies" started playing. With a melody that digs deep into your soul, one can't help but picture falling in love, feeling completely vulnerable, and opening yourself up to the even the slightest possibility of being happy. From the very first couple of lyrics, Jodi takes you through beautiful rhythmic scenes that make you instantly think about that special someone who makes you feel like you're in the most intimate of romances. Though it may be silly, it's the perfect song to stare out a dark window in a moving car and wonder what it would be like to be in her shoes.

Jodi Valentin pulls you more into her world by not only touching on the merits of love, but what it feels like to be completely trapped and unsure of a relationship. "Radio's" slow beat builds into a breakdown that leaves her questioning whether or not this love is actually true or is it something that has just been forced and deteriorating over time. Everyone has found themselves caught in a dilemma of whether or not it's love or just infatuation. It's almost painful and self destructing just trying to work through it. "Twenty seconds 'til midnight, twenty seconds 'til...you" emphasizes the chill between her and her partner before she walks down the staircase and potentially puts on a smile or confesses her bottled up emotions. We've all been there, but Jodi Valentin has a way of making you feel like if something was to be said, there's a chance you might lose that person.

With a voice that is unbelievably smooth and lyrics that are raw, honest, and alluring, Jodi Valentin has a future that is just as bright as her talent. She sings with her heart and of personal experience, which makes this artist not only powerful lyricist, but also someone an audience can easily accept and relate to.
