JODY AND THE JERMS is a fresh trio out of Oxford who formed only last Summer and recently launched their 4-track debut EP called ‘TODAY’. You’ll hear immediately that this three-piece knows exactly how to write a catchy pop song and with the seductive and romantic voice of female lead singer Jody Jeger they have the ideal vocal sensuality.
The EP starts with the dreamy, yet electrical title track Today, then comes their dynamic and punchy version of ‘He Doesn’t Know Me Much At All’, a song by former New York shoegazers named Belltower. Track three ‘Back In The World‘ is an uplifting pop tune
and closer ‘Breathe‘ sounds like if Debbie Harry fronted an indie band. Overall this jaunty debut EP is an effervescent and melodious achievement. Splendid way to start! - Turn Up The Volume
It can be quite daunting for a band to make a comeback. And it’s another thing entirely to come back in a new form. Comprised of former indie stalwarts Niall Jeger and Alex Bridge – of Oxford’s The Anydays – Jody & The Jerms only formed back in June 2019 but, as the band’s guitarist Niall tells The Ocelot, they’ve already got a festival booked for 2020, released two tracks and have already snatched attention in Spain. - Ocelot - Clare Dukes
Following success and attention for singles released in late 2019 such as ‘He Doesn’t Know Me Much At All’ and ‘Never Going Home’, the indie-pop trio from Oxford have released their debut EP titled ‘Today’. Not only have the group been making an impact in their hometown of Oxford, but have sparked attention internationally with rotation plays from one of Spain’s biggest radio stations RTVE.
The EP has 4 tracks, starting with punchy title track ‘Today’, which showcases the melodic sounds of lead singer Jody Jeger’s voice, impactful drumming from Alex Bridge and an uplifting and bright guitar solo from Niall Jeger.
Tracks such as ‘Breathe’ show characteristics of twee pop with male/female harmonies and a catchy melody. While ‘He Doesn’t Know Me Much At All’ is certainly the most upbeat track, the EP has levels and dynamics with ‘Back In The World’ being a more chilled out number. - Beehive Candy

"SOUNDS LIKE IF DEBBIE HARRY FRONTED AN INDIE BAND"
Jody and the Jerms formed in the Summer of 2019 in Oxford, England and are Alex, Jody and Niall.
Their first single Never Going Home (Oct 2019) was originally recorded in 1991 by the rarely- remembered New York shoe-gazers, The Belltower but Jody and the Jerms transformed it into a poppier, though no less pertinent, meditation on the futility of trying to relive Christmas’s past.
"I’m fixated. Their tracks are a combination of Blondie meets Letters to Cleo, and yet echo bands such as Best Coast and Summer Camp. It's kind of brilliant!" Claire Dukes - Ocelot
"He Doesn’t Know Me Much At All is a nostalgic pop delight, that blends all those glittery, uplifting melodies and radiates the band’s bubbly personality. The Oxford trio are bringing back harmony-laden indie pop with an unmistakable nostalgic edge."
