A little bit country and a little bit blues... served on a mountain of honesty... Simple songs, with beautiful melodies, that sings on long after the songs ended.
After years of performing Swing/Jazz/Blues, fronting one of Brisbane's best loved bands in the genre. Jody Haines is now out and Solo.
Jody grew up in potato farming territory in the North-west of Tasmania with her Grandparents. Whilst there was always music playing, there were really only two types, Country and Western. Jim Reeves and Tex Morton were on high rotation, and Charlie Pride delivered Sunday lunch. It was really only a matter of time before Jody headed back to her roots.
Jody's music is not traditional Country, but a blend of contemporary country blues, or modern country. Some of her greatest influences include Emmylou Harris, Bessie Smith, and Carol King. Three ladies, three genres, but they all share the ability to make you feel every word they sing, something Jody aims to achieve.
