Biography

Joe is a singer, songwriter, keyboardist and producer. His music is pop with a soulful edge, with the vocals being the driving force. Joe's music incorporates elements of different styles including pop, rock, r&b, electronic, blues, jazz/swing and more. Joe is a very rounded musician/performer. He has a degree in composition and piano from Ball State University where he studied with Dr. Robert Palmer (Palmer's many awards include prizes in the Joanna Hodges International Piano Competition and the United States Information Agency National Piano Competition. Palmer is the Mauzy-Porter Distinguished Professor of Music at Ball State University, where he has served on the artist-faculty since 1986. Palmer is a Steinway Artist and he is a regular faculty member at the ARIA international summer music festival). After graduating from Ball State Joe came to Atlanta, where over the past few years he has worked with several great producers, vocal coaches and engineers, including Jan Smith (who’s client list includes Justin Bieber, Usher, Rob Thomas, The Band Perry and more), Blue Hamilton (producer who's produced for Justin Bieber, Usher, Robin Thick and more), Heidi Higgins (writer for polygram), Shawn Grove (engineer for Collective Soul and many others) and others, and this past month we released Joe’s self-produced EP - "Never The Same", which we are now in the process of marketing.

Since the release, Joe has assembled an all-star 6-piece band, which includes (in addition to Joe) a drummer, a bassist, 2 guitarists, a DJ (who will perform on a per/venue basis, and will also be involved with co-production and some of the sound design on the rest of the album and moving forward). In the live setting Joe performs on the keyboard while singing lead - though there are times where Joe will step away from the keys and only sing. We have a very versatile and skilled drummer, who studied under Tom Knight (drummer for TLC) and toured for Arrested Development last year on their Australia/Asia tour at times playing for crowds of 50 to 100 thousand. Our bassist plays for KinKade (R&B artist who had a #1 hit single "Superstar" on Billboard's Hot R&B/HipHop Singles sales) and sings background vocals. Both of our guitarists sing background vocals and complement each other with their different styles and backgrounds. One is a blues/southern rock artist who is also classically trained. The other is Berklee-trained, with great rock, r&b, funk and jazz chops and more. The DJ will perform with us at appropriate venues - venues wired and acoustically built for big sound. The band is extremely ?exible and versatile (as is Joe’s music), and can perform any song in a “stripped” down strictly acoustic style, or with full sound, including electronic mixed with acoustic.
