Queue

Life is a queue, waiting and working for one social step after another. And while the world’s wealth dissipates before our eyes, as it is passed from front to back. We become very aware of our place and anxious of the thousands in front of us. But rarely do we turn around to see the billions behind watching our backs.

“Queue”, the debut single from Joe Cleere, is the first offering from the long awaited album East/West. Described as a “Songsmith” by Jackie Hayden (Hotpress), Cleere is known for his acute lyrics and Social/Political themes, in this realm “Queue” is certainly no exception, lyrically chartering the distribution of the worlds wealth accross nations.

Avoiding the usual singer-songwriter perch, “the plight of the lone guitar- vocalist”. Cleere pumps out bass and shreds guitars, while delicately conducting choirs and feathering pianos. Think of Neil Young, Radiohead and Bob Marley, balance their vibes with their meanings and you’ll land in East / West.

As part of the bands introduction into the Irish music scene and to stimulate open conversation about Irelands, often unappreciated, independent artists and their efforts to release themselves, the band will be giving away 10,000 copies of their debut single “Queue” across the country. This campaign is set to start in November 2008 and will continue until, literally all the discs are gone!

Cleere and the Band have been gigging around Ireland extensively and have traveled as far as Slovakia to play festivals.

Whether its live performing, publishing, writing, or recording. Cleere is a good candidate for the job.

History
..................................................................................

Joe Cleere, as a music artist has been traveling a long route to hopeful success. Cleere picked up guitar at 11 years old and played his first gig at 12, under the act "Joe plays Jimmy (Hendrix)". At just fourteen Joe recorded his first EP in a friend’s studio in Finland. Subsequently a song from this disc, "How Does It Feel", entered the final of the Jacobs 2Fm Song Contest 2001. The contest was aired live on 2fm from Vicar ST, Dublin.

Having received a taste for the music world Cleere, kept working hard on improving his song writing, singing and musicianship. He also started building a recording studio. Two years later at 16 Joe was back in the 2fm song contest final 2003, this time with a song called "All the Same".

After leaving Cert Joe decided to study a degree in PR & Communications at IT Carlow. His first year in college saw him winning the National IT Song Factor 2005. This was then followed by Cleere and his band winning the 2fm song contest 2006 of which funded the completion of his home recording studio now named "Fretless Records", which has recorded a host of local acts including the recent chart hit "Irish Party" by Shakey which reached #26 in the Irish Charts on downloads alone.

Now 21 Joe Cleere has graduated college with an honors degree, is in the final stages of completing his album and has just been awarded an Artlinks Bursary Award to help fund the release. The first single will be launched on September 13th and the album in February 2009.

But mostly he is working hard paving the way for a long awaited full time career in music for both himself and his band.
