Harder Side of Nearly Everything

Written By: Joe Hand

Another week down,
and I’m up when I should be sleeping
I’m feeling down,
must be the company I’m keeping
alone again and again,
can anyone out there feel what I’m sayin’
I’m missing my friend,
and I wonder why I’m hanging on the
Harder side of nearly everything

Another night down,
and I’m up again at the crack of noon
Caffeine goes down,
my heart could use a pick me up too
The SUN is my shadow today,
now if I could only find my shades
I’m missing my friend,
and I wonder why my sun is shining on the harder side... of nearly everything

Since you, nothing has gone smoothly
Post-you, I don’t know what I’m breathing for
If I could have just one wish, I’d wish you through my front door and into my empty arms…

Another hour down,
my mood is minute to minute
I’m tired of down,
and my world without you in it.
I’m missing my friend,
Though I miss you my friend,
I hope you never find yourself on the harder side of nearly everything...

Won't See the Day

Written By: Joe Hand

My clothes are hanging
Your clothes are packed
You’re out the door
And not looking back

Words spoke in anger
Can never be erased
Short term and long term
Have a sour taste

Your eyes are red
My eyes are blue
won’t see the day
I get over you

My car is cold
Your engine hot
your future brighter
mine is not

Words spoke in anger
Can never be erased
Short term and long term
Have a sour taste

Your eyes are red
My eyes are blue
won’t see the day
I get over you

I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you
You’re not to blame
Forgive yourself for all these years
And return to your old name

Starlet

Written By: Joe Hand

Look at that starlet,
she’s coming unglued
you’d think all that money would be better used

Surrounded by hit men, yes men, and the lens
A million one shots of a beauty with the bends

Too scared to die, too afraid to live
Skinful of guilt few can forgive

How many times can this woman be news?
Her flesh on the cover,
your issues can’t lose

A story with legs that features her child
Who’s watching baby while we watch mom go wild.

Too scared to die, too afraid to live
Skinful of guilt few can forgive

Look where you’re goin’, and put down the phone
You’d think she’d have sense from the dollars she owns

If I had her money,
her power, her fame
I’d bet every dime I would not do the same

Too scared to die, too afraid to live
Skinful of guilt, I’ll never forgive

Where is my agent,
my bodyguard too?
My latest promotion,
my latest tattoo
No paparazzi ever follow me around
I’d rather watch starlets all fall to the ground
It’s much safer watching starlets fall to the ground

Skinful of guilt, I’ll never forgive
I’m too scared to die, too afraid to live.

These Days

Written By: Joe Hand

The music of the new generation
does very little for me
The music of my generation
does even less
But when I hear the sound that came before me
The angels carry me away
To better times and far better places
What I would give to hear those days

The wheels of the new generation
hold very little for me
The box cars of my generation were even worse
But when I see the ones that came before me
I wish they’d carry me away
To better times and far better places
What I would give to ride those days

But they’re gone…
those days are gone
Sand at the bottom of the hourglass
Yes they’re gone…
those days are all gone
And these days are fading fast
Guess it’s true all things must pass
Yes these days… are fading fast

But when I think of the people that went before me
I wish they’d carry me away
To better times and far better places
What I would give to live those days again

But they’re gone…
those people are gone
Sand at the bottom of their hourglass
Yes they’re gone…
those days are all gone
And these days are fading fast
Guess it’s true all things must pass
Yes these days… are fading fast

I miss hearing the horns blow on good ol’ AM radio
And I miss my goombah Joe…

Typical Male

Written By: Joe Hand

I’m a typical male yeah
Listen to me now while I
tell you a story ‘bout a
beautiful lady she was
oh so lovely made my
hair stand straight up and I
stood quite straight up and I
sucked my gut in

She said, “hi, I’m Candy, are you feeling alright now cause you
look kinda funny like you’re gonna have a baby.” And I
cracked up laughin’ now I’m totally smitten what a
typical male, I fall so easily in love

yes I’m in love
I’m in love
Yes I’m in love
And I’ve never felt this way before…

I’m a typical male yeah
you still with me? Good!
I’ve got a story of a
beautiful lady she had
Four hundred horses under a
fire engine red dress with
Fine, fine leather that only
comes from overseas

She said, “Hi I’m Candy, are you ready to ride now cause you
Look like the kind of man that will Fit me to a T.” and I
Cracked up laughin’ now I’m
Totally smitten I’m a
Typical male, I fall so easily in love

yes I’m in love
I’m in love
Yes I’m in love
And I’ve never felt this way before…

You can say I’m careless I don’t mind
But a man ain’t a man
unless he’s left half his brain behind

I’m a typical man yeah just One more story of a
Beautiful lady who Caught me in a store she was
The kind of woman I could Put on a pedestal just
Pure eye candy and I
Had to take her home

She was Five foot nothing with a frame so slender, I could
Watch her for hours she’s a picture perfect screen

and I’m in love …
