Joe Ice

Born as Joseph Dargan in Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1983, Joe Ice is an artist that truly conveys hip hop as a form of art. He delivers every word with pride, passion and conviction. At the age of 12, Joe Ice moved from his housing project apartment in Brooklyn to a housing project in Harlem, this was a continuation of the tribulations that he was to endure. In 2004, he decided to move to a quiet neighborhood in Queens due to the birth of his first child and the suicide of his best friend. Joe Ice was very concerned that if he didn't move his son out of Harlem that he would succumb to the hardships of the inner city ghetto.
Joe Ice began writing rhymes at the age of 16. Since then, the 23 year old has slowly developed a unique style that amazingly embodies every scale of his flamboyant personality. No longer battling other young rappers in the street for respect, Joe Ice has become a prolific songwriter and rapper. On songs like: Ain't Scared and Nightmares his lyrics tell a story of a man who has survived the storm and is now ready, willing and able to take on the world.
Presently, Joe Ice is the owner and engineer of a successful recording studio in Queens. This is where he also works day in and day out on perfecting his craft. Joe Ice's manager is Otis Rivers, President and C.E.O. of Syk Sound Entertainment. They were introduced in 2004 by a mutual friend in Harlem. Blown away by his talent, Otis immediately began working with "Joe" to create a giant buzz in hip hop underground community.
"I spit every bar like it my last one! I bare my soul." Joe Ice says with a cocky grin. The road hasn't been easy, but he understands that hard work and dedication is the key to success. As a hobby he spends up to 12 hours a day being an engineer. It only a matter of time before Joe Ice becomes a household name. With discipline, natural talent and a tremendous amount of skill on his side, Joe Ice is definitely blazing a path towards success.
