My father (best friend) had headphones on me at two weeks old listening to acoustic Bruce Springsteen tracks. I fooled around on his guitars growing up, and got my own when I was ten. Already writing poetry, the first full songs quickly followed.
Though I started with Bruce, The Beatles, and U2, I have gone down virtually every musical road since then. My favorites now include Glen Phillips (Toad the Wet Sprocket), Ani DiFranco, Martin Sexton, Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, Rachmaninoff, Eminem (yes, Eminem), and anyone else that can make me cry or catch my breath with a song.
I sing about the things that have re-written my parameters - the events that have changed my life, and whose stories could do the same for others.
