Introducing Joel France, the new kid on the block of the sprawling pop/folk kingdom. After studying songwriting at the University of Auckland, France has set his sights on greater things, primarily delivering a tear-jerking live performance that will be sure to leave you wanting more. His songs play on the heart-strings of his listeners, demanding equal helpings of attention and emotion to the lyrics and arrangements. France’s unique style of pop-infused folk tunes has drawn comparisons with Bon Iver and Fleet Foxes, with a dash of sampling and electronic beats to give a new spin on a traditionally acoustic genre. France has been hard at work recording a debut EP with Jason Hole (Alaska, Kora, Black Eyed Peas), and his single ‘Return To Me’ features Silver Scroll-nominee Lydia Cole.
