Bio

The Joel Hofmann Band is truly a honky-tonk band in the sense that we play what we want and we play for the enjoyment of playing. The Joel Hofmann Band has been gigging since 2003 and we have a strong following. The band feathers pros like Dale Allen, Jim Adair, and Aaron Covington. We have shared the stage with greats like Junior Brown. We were nominated for the Rising Star Award in the 2009 Texas Music Awards.

BAND BIOS:
JOEL HOFMANN (Guitar and Vocals)
Joel, a fan of Country music since the early age of 10, has been in the music industry for over nine years. Now he is the deep baritone voice heard effortlessly covering legends like Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and George Jones, just to name a few. While his Telecaster rings with the emotions and original tunes from a wide variety of influences. He can go from a bluesy original to a classic country cover with minimal effort while his super tight rhythm section keeps the beat.
DALE ALLEN (Guitar)
Dale, a veteran to the music industry, has worn many hats in the business from Texas guitar slinger, to producer, to singer and to songwriter. Dale has been working in recent years with such acts as-Brandon Wayne and the Widowmakers, Wayne Hancock, Wammo, Trigger Happy, Magdalenes, Jane Bond, Texas Sapphires, Rick Hornyak, and the Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash. Currently Dale is proud to be recording and producing their new CD, as well as performing onstage with the Joel Hofmann Band. Dale also fronts his own hillbilly honky-tonk spaghetti western swing band Genuine Cowhide, showcasing his own vocals and songwriting while bringing back the WESTERN to country and western.
AARON COVINGTON (Bass) Aaron Covington has a rich music background. Growing up in Memphis he has played upright and electric bass for many bands. He has also worked in the famous Sun Studio and was able to score a movie role in Walk the Line as Jerry Lee Lewis's Bassist. He came to the Austin area with his band Turbo 350 to try and further his music career. He is currently in several bands ranging from traditional country to heavy rockabilly. Aaron is a jack of all trades with several instruments, but the bass he really masters.
JIM ADAIR (Drums)
Jim started playing drums at the early age of 12, and although it was learning to rock out to bands like Metallica, Rush, and Ozzie, Jim went on to play jazz and blues at Central Michigan University. The Central Texas outstanding music scene brought Jim to Austin in January of 2006 where he is fine tuning his craft in country, jazz, blues and honky-tonk music.
