Bio

Austin, Texas based singer-songwriter, Joel Melton's, fresh blend of Traditional Country and Rock is similar in style to Steve Earle or Cross Canadian Ragweed but with a unique flair. His left of center approach to song writing and hard driving accompaniments give his music a Country Rock crossover appeal. His masterfully crafted story songs provide the perfect background for his fluid acoustic guitar work, honky-tonk blues-influenced harmonica licks, and rough-hewn vocals. Melton's contagious tunes are lyric heavy, character driven, and delivered with an edge that pulls the listener in and takes them for a ride.

Melton's performances have been captured in some of the country's most highly respected listening rooms such as Nashville's Bluebird Cafe and Tootsies, Texas' Sons of Herman Hall and Cactus Cafe, and Oklahoma's Blue Door. In addition to headlining shows, Joel has performed with premier national artists Ian Moore, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Jimmy LaFave, Kevin Welch, and Vince Gill.

For an artist who writes his own songs, Melton realizes sometimes it's hard to be heard and understood. It won't happen in the living room or the garage. The music has to be taken to the people until the day when the people can be taken by the music. Joel is ready to do just that with his latest release, Round Here.
