"I spent many nights wide awake through the night, as a kid. I would have night terrors that was "end of the world" type stuff in my dreams. I guess that is where some of my spiritual perception comes out in my music. I like a darker, slightly depressive set of lyrics put to a laid back easy listening song, and vice versa.
I thoroughly enjoy Damien Rice, Glen Hansard, David Gray and Leonard Cohen to name a few. Damien and Glen are probably my top two for inspiration as of late. They both have a very unique style and personality that intrigues me.
Lyrics are the soul of the emotion expressing itself. The best time to write (for me) is when it is very late at night and I'm just about ready to drift off to dreamland. That's when the subconscious has a little more of a voice that can be heard."
