Joe Markus has played the guitar for many years. He started as a club performer in various cover bands in the Mid-West USA, many years ago. He played covers of the Beatles, Rolling Stones, and the music of various guitar heroes such as Clapton, Zeppelin, Hendrix, Lynyrd Skynyrd, etc. to establish his chops. He added the influences of Dylan, Neil Young, etc. to the acoustic side of his playing. Then, he discovered the talents of numerous Blues greats as Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, B.B. King, etc. to embrace a style of the Blues which has become a standard in his playing. He worked his way from the Great Lakes areas of the Mid-West through the Rocky Mountains, eventually migrated to the West coast, performing along the way.
