I am JOEY A. I am a songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist from Cleveland, Ohio. I cam up heavily immersed in the Cleveland music scene, and have been fortunate to travel the world playing music. Touring brought me to Nashville, Tennessee, where I honed my recording and songwriting chops while barely making ends meet living in a Nashville basement.
“PARiS” and my upcoming debut record was conceptualized during that early-20’s struggle. Something clicked. I embraced my individuality in a way I never had before. This project was born with a single idea in mind: create a sound that is purely instinctual. Sexy and visceral enough to make you move, while deep enough to move you. Nashville brought me to Los Angeles, where I began to craft several records with that sentiment in mind. This LP was recorded and co-produced in LA with my two mentors Damien Lewis and Jim Kaufman, and I feel perfectly encapsulates the concept this project is centered on.
JOEY-A is not a project about me, it’s about us. It's about embracing the unbelievable power that music has to influence people. It's about using that power to extend fun, positive, passionate vibes to as many of them as possible. It takes each and every one of us to elevate this music to the world.
