Lyrics

This Town

Written By: Joey Ciotti

Have you heard the way they talk about you
They're so critical about everything we do

Driving down this empty street, It’s not where we're meant to be
All our lives stuck in this place, we got to get ourselves free
And everybody that I meet, well their all laughing at me, yeah

They say you've got to dream and set your sights high
But This Town is like a grave, all the dreams have died

Maybe we could run away
I know there's a place, that we'd rather be
Baby we could run away
Away from This Town that keeps dragging us down

I met a man today, he almost made me cry
He spent his whole life in This Town, never questioned why
Some people live their dreams, while others never try, yeah

And as the days creep by, This Town just stays the same
It's got a grip on our souls, it's trying to put out our flame

Maybe we could run away
I know there's a place, that we'd rather be
Baby we could run away
Away from This Town that keeps dragging us down

Well I’ve packed my things, I’m set to go
I’ve left a farewell on my door, I want them all to know
That this simple minded place, it aint where I wanna be

Baby we could run away
I know there's a place, that we'd rather be
Baby we could run away
Away from This Town, that keeps dragging us down
Baby we could run away

Give Them a Reason

Written By: Joey Ciotti

We took a wrong turn down an old dirty street
That day my life changed
Was on the fringe of the City,
A world without pity
Suffering in silence and shame

I walked through the streets
I heard people crying
Their world in decay
Promises none, no hope for tomorrow
How could we leave them this way

They said

Will anybody listen
Doesn't anybody care

Where is our world, of Passion and Glory
Let's give them some hope for a change
Lift them up high, help them to fly
Away and beyond all this pain

An old man on a bridge, with a line in his hand
Hoping for something to eat
As I walked on by saw a tear in his eye
And a family to feed at his feet

I caught a man's stare, naked and wasted
and he beckoned for me to come near
He took hold of my hand and he fell to his knees
And he pleaded in my ear

Give me a reason to walk one more mile
Give me some hope for a change
Lift me up high, help me to fly
Help me break free from these chains

Give me a reason to walk one more mile
Give me some hope for a change
Lift me up high, help me to fly
Help me break free from these chains

I went for a walk down a street we forgot
And I’ll never be the same
