Bio

"Once you heard Joey's vocal you will not confuse it with any other, because their music and lyric are inherent of some special charm and sophistication. You can analyze why it is so - but it's better just to listen to Joey Hizon Project`s music." R&R World (UK)

Joey Hizon is a musician from Brisbane, Australia. He formed the Joey Hizon Project in October 2011 to pursue his love for music. Joey Hizon Project (JHP) is a Rock/Alternative band and has been compared to artists like U2, Third Day, Pete Murray, John Butler, and Coldplay. JHP is a vessel to promote positive music and consists of musicians who want to make a positive difference in the world. Their music talks about love, hope, freedom, and anything inspiring and uplifting, which is a refreshing change from some of the self-centred and negative music out there.

JHP's debut single HOW I WISH reached #10 in the Triple J Unearthed Indie charts in early 2012. The band was voted into the Top 6 bands in QLD for Hard Rock Rising 2012, which gave them a spot to play at the iconic Hard Rock Cafe at Surfer's Paradise, Gold Coast. This was a huge turning point in their musical careers as they got the chance to perform infront of some leaders in the music industry.

In the short amount of the band's existence, the boys have already played at a number of events including at Canberra (with TiGERTOWN & Transience Invalid), at the Brisbane Multicultural Fiesta, Shark Bar (support Dollarosa), Awakening (with local and interstate artists), BalconyTV Brisbane, annual ClearThinking Cube event, to name a few. The band has also been interviewed by Canberra's 1WAY FM radio station, by USA online radio stations, as well as by online communities in the UK.

2012 will see the release of JHP’s debut EP, which will be recorded at Applewood Lane Studio, owned by multi-ARIA award winning producer Magoo (Powderfinger, Regurgitator, Operator Please, Midnight Oil). This year will also see the release of the official HOW I WISH music video, a live film recording for a DVD, a tour of QLD, 2 spots at Easterfest (largest Christian festival in Australia), gigs throughout Brisbane and Gold Coast, and a planned tour overseas….and anywhere else where they are called to play.

JHP’s music will guarantee to take you into a journey where it leads you to feelings of excitement, to possibly bringing you to tears, or even both. So be ready and gear up for this exciting new band as they make a name for themselves! But most importantly to do what they love to do as a band, which is to play some music!
