JoeyJohn is a musician and film maker from New York City. After years of living and performing in Paris, JoeyJohn has returned to America to release his 8th CD “AMERICANA.”
AMERICANA strikes at the root of rock and blues combined with the powerful voice and guitar of it’s front man JoeyJohn and the lead guitar of Irina Yalkowsky formerly of the BRIAN JONESTOWN MASSACRE, solidified with the verteran rythym section of Pete Caldes (Gravel Pit, Juliana Hatfield) on Drums and Joe Klompus (Jack Drag) on Bass.
JOEYJOHN has recently returned from Paris where he regularly performed at LE RESERVOIR, FRANC PINOT, CAFE OZ, ECT... having premiered his Film “NICK ET MOI” in both Paris and Barcelona, his third film “POETRY WITHOUT PAPERS” was featured in THE SHORT FILM CORNER at the 2007 CANNES FILM FESTIVAL...(to a Standing room only crowd).
In 2005 JOEYJOHN’s music was featured in a film “Wait Till This Year” (produced by NESN and Major League Baseball) in which he received a Telly Award for Use of Music in Film.
JOEYJOHN’s underground impact on the Internet has seen a fruitful year in 2007...now over 500,000 views of videos posted on Myspace, YouTube etc... www.joeyjohn.com
JOEYJOHN also featured his comic acting skills as the lead singer “Rutherford Bennington” for the VH1 mocumentary ROCK BAND BAND...
