Bio

Johanna's passionate performances and improvisational edge captivate audiences of all ages. Her soulful voice and skillful songwriting are featured in two solo albums, Stolen Grace and If I Could Fly. Mina Carson, coauthor of Girls Rock: 50 Years of Women in Rock and Roll, said “Johanna delivers her heartfelt songs with passion and profound musicianship. She has a stunning stylistic range, and a voice that never quits.”
In 2008, Johanna found friendship and musical synergy with bass player Lyris, whose sweet, melodic lines underscore and embellish Johanna's singing and guitar playing. Their acoustic blue eyed soul duo has performed at numerous benefits, festivals, wineries, and brew pubs.

In performance, the duo has an irresistible visual appeal. Their music has been described as sultry melodic girl pop and as edgy indie soul. Whatever you call it, their genre-busting style grabs you and doesn’t let go.
Johanna solo or in duo with lyris are performing around the Pacific Northwest and preparing a recording for a 2011 release.
