Joharra

Joharra has been recognized as a uniquely talented vocalist and composer with a style that is all her own. Born in Cairo, Egypt in 1990 Joharra's musical influences span the globe, from contemporary eastern/western pop and hip hop, to reggae, soul and R&B.

Joharra began her artistic journey at the age of 8. Even at this young age she knew exactly what she wanted to be “In my heart, music is who I am and what I want my life to be”. She set out to learn her craft, diligently working on her vocals and creative writing skills, striving to reach her goals. At the age of 16, her mother, realizing her talent, moved from her birth home in Cairo to Vancouver, Canada in order to help Joharra to perdsue her dream of becoming a professional musical artist. The move proved to be a wise decision...

Once in Vancouver Joharra was fortunate to gain the attention of some of Canada's most talented producers who helped to guide her in learning her craft and in finding her voice. As a solo entrepreneur Joharra raised over $10,000 (through the “grant game”) to help fund her budding music career. The proceeds lead to the creation of her first single titled “Brooklyn,” which was released on August 29, 2014 to local rave reviews!

With this accomplishment achieved, Joharra began building a network to promote her music. She then caught her first real break at a Tory Lanez concert in 2015 where she gained access to backstage and met a variety of industry professionals, including Ex, the Co-Founder of Tikoon’z Media.

Impressed by her unique sound, Joharra was flown then to Toronto Canada to work with producer Laioung of G7 Records and together they proceeded to record her single “Drive Fast,” which is slatted for release in the Spring of 2017. As a born collaborator Joharra is consistently driven by a desire to create music with other artists and producers. Working with talented and motivated people has helped to shape her unique musical vision and sound.

In 2016 Joharra made the move to New York NY, where she is currently working with a diverse team including Kenny Butler and Kirk Burrows as her partners, as well as designers and producer/songwriter(s) such as Lorenzo Asher (Atlantic Records), DJ SuperTouch, Duo - Seven and Rizr, to release all new music. Joharra’s work continues to captivate listeners from around the globe and she looks forward to adding New York to the list.
