Briefing:
Jo Hell and the Red Roosters have been rocking Texas for two years after moving from their home town of Montreal, Quebec. Playing more than 250 shows per year from their new home in Austin, the power trio continues to pack venues with original rock and roll.
Jo Hell’s on-stage presence reveals his rich blend of influences from Bon Scott to Buddy Guy.
The band’s repertoire is versatile, going from Jimi Hendrix to Muddy Waters, Stevie Ray Vaughn to Hound Dog Taylor, AC/DC to Chuck Berry and Freddie King to Johnny Winter and the Rolling Stones.
Following the roots of their influences has taken Jo Hell and the Red Roosters throughout the United States to venues like Chicago’s “Legends” and stages in New York City, Boston, Memphis, New Orleans, Dallas, Galveston, Jackson and Indianola, Mississippi.
The band’s travel has allowed them to connect with their spiritual guides and take their audiences on an intense and transcendent journey.
With a strong list of more than 20 original songs and heavy requests from their fans to play them live, the band has plenty of material for its debut album – due this year.

2006-2007 Tour Highlights:
Jo Hell and the Red Roosters arrived in Austin for the 2006 SXSW music festival and were featured at the July “Red, White and Blues Festival” at Waterloo Park. The band toured Belgium that year as well, making their first European trek.

In 2007 the band performed hundreds of shows at Austin clubs such as Nuno’s On Sixth where they frequently performed with blues legend Pinetop Perkins. The band played at many other Austin sites like Blind Pig Pub, Carlos and Charlie’s, Speakeasy, Cedar Street as well as performances throughout Central Texas, Galveston, Dallas and Mississippi. Jo Hell and the Red Roosters was the headline act at a historical blues event in Indianola, MS, where they performed at Club Ebony – one of the few remaining juke joints left in the Delta.

History:
Jo Hell and the Red Roosters played for 11 years in Quebec, performing twice at the Montreal International Jazz Festival and five times at Tremblant’s International Blues Festival. The group has been featured in Montreal’s major daily newspapers La Presse, Le Devoir and Le Soleil. Veteran bluesmen in Quebec such as Carl Tremblay, Bob Harrison and Jim Zellers have called upon Jo Hell to perform with them.
Jo Hell started playing bars in the Montreal area at the age of 16. After two years of playing jam nights seven nights per week, he formed Jo Hell and the Red Roosters.
