Bio

Born and raised in Bainbridge Ga, Clifford Devonta Johnson (John De Vinci) was introduced to art at a young age. From drawing characters in elementary school to writing love poems in middle school. "I really wasn't interested in music round my middle school days because I was always into sports, football mainly. I dropped basketball in High School because I thought I was too short. My interest came from just riding round with either my dad listening to Pac, The Lost Boyz, R.Kelly, or Outkast. Even got some knowledge on music from hanging with my grandma. She was into music like Jaheem, Musiq SoulChild, Joe, or The Isley Bros. That's when I first realized I wanted to be a musician". Joining his cousin Dylan Taylor (Apaulow)'s crew "MashLyfe" which is also Co-Owned by Jamere Hopkins (JHOP) kept De Vinci out of trouble and elevated his creativity. De Vinci  got into recording music in 2010 from being around Apaulow, his friend Brandon Robinson (The Vision), and hanging out at Nappy Boy Studios in Tallahassee FL. "As a kid I stayed to myself a lot.  Mainly because I didn't think other people even cared about opinions, plus I was an introvert so I stayed isolated even at home. I never had a journal or a dairy. I just wrote stuff down because I felt better afterwards. Later down the road as I kept doing it, it became pictures and poems. Next thing you know I got a song right in front of me and didn't know it". De Vinci created a style of Soul Rap with a Old Skool flow like no other. He began putting music out online spreading them around Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube then dropped his first two mixtape on Datpiff. His name started going viral when he start his Day to Day videos "Joneson & Joneson' showing people his process in making music and just going through his every day life in college."If I was to drop every mixtape that I've made I'd have up to 6 mixtapes online right now, working on 8. I was a heavy worker and I mean every day. I would get out of class do my homework, then start working on music. It took good time management because we was doing some of everything. Performing, partying, hanging out, all that good stuff. Creating conscious rap was getting easier everyday because I was doing it consistently. By the time I had graduated I realized how I wanted the world to see me and I hit the ground running with it. I was doing shows every week if I could. Going downtown Orlando just putting my flyers in random places. Places them where people would see them and not knock them down or throw them away. In order to get out there you have to put yourself out there as if you was feeding yourself to the world. I'm not greedy it's just a hustler's mentality".

Now going from the name 'John Dee' to 'John De Vinci' he pursue the music industry with a gifted rap technique. He created that name influenced by the late Leonardo Da Vinci because he wanted people to look at him for not only his music but for his artwork as well, so he created this name to give you a feel of music and art. Most would say he sounds something like Andre 3000, Currensy, or School Boy Q with a little old and new skool flow. His latest project 'ZEALOUS' shook the internet and gave him his respect as an sou rap artist. He had hit after hit with incredible features from Apaulow to DGR8. He mixes his designs with his music. If you see his cover art's for his singles and mixtapes, you'll get a feeling on how the song will be. He uses his good designs skills to create Album Art, Fashion Design, Photography, Videography, and animation."My mama and dad got mad at me because they thought I came all the way to Orlando just to push my music. I kind of did but I had a plan that I already talked to God about when I was just in 10th grade. I call
myself got a degree in design to: 1. Get More and a good job 2. To make it easier for me to stand out from other musicians 3. To make it easier for me and my team to create campaigns for our label we pushing.  I don't have to rely on others to do my designs or ANYTHING. I write my own lyrics, create my own cover art, and then promote so I do all that and take care of my lovely kids. I'm a f*n machine or I would say a BUSINESS man. I'm never cocky with it or nothing though I stay humble with my peers. I am somebody that has a lot to say. I just hope the world is ready for what I'm bringing to the table is all I can say.
