Johnal

For many years local R&B king Johnal has been soothing our ears with his smooth melodic voice. Johnal Gleen was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. He is currently working on a mix tape entitled “The Take Over Vol.3”. This project will be released early 2010. Most recently, he has been performing at clubs out of town and locally; and opening up for industry artist such as Melanie Fiona, Fabulous, Pleasure P, Mario, Bobby Valentino, Nikki Minaj and Oj the Juice Man. Johnal’s single release will be promoted heavily via the radio, internet radio, retail, digital release and videos.

Johnal is the third oldest child in a family of five. “We were raised by our mother who brought us up in a strong church background”, he says. From his church choir to national competitions, Johnal has been singing since the age of fifteen. Johnal grew up in the poverty stricken slums of the infamous Goodyear Avenue. After grinding in one of the hardest neighborhoods in Buffalo, he formed a three-man group named Off The Block, all the group members grew up in the same neighborhood. The group expanded to a four-man group, and then went to a 2-man group, which lead to Johnal going solo in 2004. In 2007, Johnal’s best friend and group member Mario Burgess was brutally gunned down in an ambush at his residence. Later that year Johnal completed his first solo project entitled The Take Over Vol.1. His first solo album is a blazing R& B mix tape that scorched the radio waves and created an impressive street buss throughout western New York. The album sets its tone beginning to end with the much loved, most played single from an independent label entitled Buffalo. Buffalo received rotation on Buffalo, New York’s #1 Hip Hop/ R&B radio station 93.7 WBLK. With the release of Johnal’s first solo album, he proves that he has what it takes to compete in the music industry. Johnal shows the world his creativity, vocal ability and vast talents as they emerge through the well-lyrically structured album. "Your sound is crazy"- Brian Michael Cox. Johnal has written and performed drops for 93.7 WBLK, V103 in Atlanta GA, and 92 Jams in Orlando. Throughout his quest to become an international R&B King Johnal has had the privilege to share the stage with multi- platinum artist such as 50 Cent, Jagged Edge, T.I, Fat Joe, Donell Jones, Eclipse, Dipset, TLC, Missy & Keith Sweat. The accomplishment he is most proud of is his performance at the world famous Apollo Theater, he says. Johnal has taken the first steps in a career that have already shown skill and plenty of opportunity. With the release of The Take Over Vol. 1 Johnal did not follow the same R&B trail, he set a new trend with his effortless R&B/Hip-Hoppish flow.

Johnal advises his audience to sit back and watch as he catapults into the forefront of the R&B movement. “I am a true music artist whose multi-dimensional gifts speaks for itself”, he states.
