John Alexander

BandRockJam

We are a very eclectic rock band that loves to groove. Our song arrangements can be condensed or expanded on a whim. No two performances are ever the same since we create each set list based on where and when we are playing. We touch upon Jazz, Rock, Blues, Jam, Reggae and Funk & Originality

Biography

John Alexander was born in Massachusetts and grew up next to the ocean, north of Boston. He began playing the piano at age 5 and switched to guitar a few years later. Having learned to transcend life through melody, John's music often contains metaphoric reference to the powerful shoreline steps from home and attempts to convey deep respect and constant awareness of the entire universe. The songs embrace a wide range of influences rooted around Classic Rock and Blues while touching upon the music of the world and form flexibility.

The John Alexander Band is the culmination of intense evolution and seasoning. Rick Rubin brings virtuosic talent on piano and synthesizer while the inspired wizardry of Jeff Reich's bass playing funks up the whole mix. Brian Griffin is a stunning drummer with worldly chops and amazing feel that brings the band to a level John has always dreamed of.

Borderless Boundaries

Written By: John D. Alexander

Borderless boundaries of timeless descent. Hop-scotch around take it in with a trek. I’ve been forgiven, or so the book says. Survival the fittest, me and my best friends

You’ve been around but together we see. The powers beyond are what fuel my belief. Search for a way that will lead me to shore
I love it too much but can take it no more

Here and now the waves are loud
We’re way off course but the halo’s ‘round each star
But we are!

Saw me a lighthouse out in the bay
A towering beacon it cuts through the day. Far side or fly side what do you care? The time of your life is what’s getting you there

Think out loud and waltz around
The timing’s right
This moment is for you
Chasing after

Broken Metal

Written By: John D. Alexander & Meghan Wolf

My girl it's you
Your love is wearing through
I need a rest today.
I thought I knew the one that I used to. But that was you again

My day started workin' but it's you I found I'm searchin for
The thought of it's atrocious, you know I need a dose, baby
Know it's lonely true
I know it's lonely.

Grab a cab uptown thought my skin ain't brown. I found it's home, got a girl, got my bro I've got a piece of broken metal and a wrinkled flower pedal. I will go upstairs and release my fears

My girl it's you
Your love is wearing through
I need a rest today.
I thought I knew the one that I used to. But that was you again

Pro life or abortion I play extortion
You say it ain't right and my thoughts are contorted
But I hold my lines and I take my time. Frazzled thoughts fill my skattered mind.

Generations of man, one another more than. You see here son, when in doubt never run
'Cause you never know when he's carrying a gun. The fear it inflicts is more than enough

My girl it's you
Your love is wearing through
I need a rest today.
I thought I knew the one that I used to. But that was you again

Heedless walkin'....watching
I can see through you
I can see through your skin
Let me in
Let me out, I'm coming now

Forever climbing
Weary I am of this road
Rather be starving that have one more thing to hold.

My girl it's you
Your love is wearing through
I need a rest today.
I thought I knew the one that I used to
But that was you again

The Tide Between

Written By: John D. Alexander

Rainy end of summer day
A holiday for workers to say
What have these last months brought? Since the good times I've forgotten.
Do you remember me?
She don't know, much curiosity
Goin' back where we belong
Does it exist once you've gone?

I can't even get to the place I used to be. Tried living your life happy problem free. Much tide between me, the place I used to be
Hot water rising
Prohibiting my feet.

Much tide between me
The place I used to be
Tried living your life happy problem free. I found that the deep blue holds the islands. The wind it holds the birds. A few months in the summer time
It's back where we belong

Sun on a sadless day
A gust of wind could blow the lint along with blues away
But it won't tell you where to go to
You've got to find your way.
