On their debut album, "Life as a Kite," John and the Time Traveling Bicycle manage to offer up just the right flavors of folk, jazz and pop in their alternative fare. "John and the Time Traveling Bicycle" is the creation of San Diego Singer-Songwriter, and Fine Artist, John D. Harmon. Since the late 1990's, Harmon's bands have been selected to perform in numerous festivals and music showcases, including: the New Orleans Cutting Edge New Music Showcase, the West Virginia Music Showcase, The Midpoint Music Showcase (Cincinnati, OH), and Lexmusic Showcase (Lexington, KY), among others.
Harmon, born and raised in the mountains of West Virginia, went back to his roots on the acoustic guitar when he created John and the Time Traveling Bicycle, in mid-2011. Blending flavors of folk, rock, and jazz together with emotive lyrics, Harmon managed to forge a unique, yet accessible sound. After performing for over a year as a solo act using the moniker, Harmon pieced together the full band in early 2013. All of the members of JatTTB have many years of stage experience, and take a professional approach to their craft.
John and the Time Traveling Bicycle has quickly gained a reputation for the high quality of their performances.
