Still In Texas

Written By: John Bjorkman

Still In Texas

A Florida Cracker wandered westward to fly, but Golden State promise proved empty and dry.
With no place to stay, he just packed up his truck, and lamented his languishing luck.

Arizona deserts, New Mexico's signs, with hardly a ripple crossed the Great Divide.
He stopped off in Anthony, topped off the gas, then the miles slowly slipped past.

And he's still in Texas.
Where the bluebonnets grow, and the prairie winds blow from Amarillo to the Gulf of Mexico.
From the seaport in Houston to old El Paso, there's no place to go but home.
And he's still in Texas.

He found friendly farm roads, no traffic to fight, but his heart and the engine soon started to die.
He limped into a town and a Tex-Mex cafe, and found he had no way to pay.

They treated him kindly, had a bunk in the back. He'd work for his bills, no need to keep track.
Three weeks went by and he ended this trial, but he needed to rest for awhile.

So he's still in Texas.
Where the bluebonnets grow, and the prairie winds blow from Amarillo to the Gulf of Mexico.
From the seaport in Houston to old El Paso, there's no place to go but home.
And he's still in Texas.

The sweet señorita, who worked the cafe, healed up his heart; he decided to stay.
He traded the oceans for wide open views; and took Lone Star romantics for blues.

Five decades later, his grandsons are men, the sun in his eyes has whispered, ’amen’;
Cool Brazos teardrops flowed peaceful that day, as gently he’s laid in his grave.

Now he’s still in Texas
Where the bluebonnets grow, and the prairie winds blow from Amarillo to the Gulf of Mexico.
From the seaport in Houston to old El Paso, there's no place to go but home.

Any place you go is home.

And he’s still in Texas

Time With Clare

Time With Clare

Time, when we were younger, seemed to crawl past by and by
But it only took a moment to want you in my life

My life was often hard and torn, but your talent was for mending
And so my wounds have all been healed with your careful tending

You wonder what comes to my mind as I go through my day
I tell you, Clare, each span of time has its word to say:

A second whispers of your kiss and melts my cares away
An hour speaks of walks with you at any time of day
A minute tells me holding you is what my arms are for
And thirty years together says to wish for thirty more

Time, as we grow older, flies faster by and by
I’ve loved you more each moment since you became my wife

We dream of what we should have done, or would have, if we could
We try to forgive the bad, and hold onto the good

You wonder what the day will hold, as each dawn breaks anew
I tell you, Clare, each span of time repeats its word of you:

A second whispers of your kiss and melts my cares away
An hour speaks of walks with you at any time of day
A minute tells me holding you is what my arms are for
And thirty years together says to wish for thirty more

So, for a second let me kiss you, perhaps for eight or nine
For a minute let me hold you, and know that you are mine
Then walk with me an hour beneath the skies of blue
Thirty years is not half the time I want to spend with you

For a second whispers of your kiss and melts my cares away
An hour speaks of walks with you at any time of day
A minute tells me holding you is what my arms are for
And thirty years together says to wish for thirty more

Yes, thirty years of love from you, makes me wish for thirty more

King Of Endless Glory

Written By: John Bjorkman

King of Endless Glory

Well, He started as a carpenter Who called upon some fishermen
to drop their nets and come and follow Him

And so they came and followed Him and listened as He spoke to them
of God and the Kingdom to come
And He took them to the mountaintop where God revealed His glory
and spoke to them from out of the cloud:

This is My True Son, the Faithful, Chosen One
listen as He speaks My Word to you
Yes, this is My True Son, the Faithful, Chosen One
listen as He speaks My Word to you

Praise to You, Lord Jesus Christ, King of Endless glory
Praise to You, Lord Jesus Christ, King of Endless glory

And though He died at Calvary He rose again, up from the grave
to seal His victory over death and sin

And one day soon He’ll come again to reign as our Eternal King
bringing a new heaven and new earth
And when we join Him in the sky He’ll wipe the tears from every eye
and bid His children come and enter in

So join me as I sing to our Savior, Lord and King:
Jesus Christ, The First and The Last
So join me as I sing to our Savior, Lord and King:
Jesus Christ, The First and The Last

Praise to You, Lord Jesus Christ, King of Endless glory
Praise to You, Lord Jesus Christ, King of Endless glory

Praise to You, Lord Jesus Christ, King of Endless glory
Praise to You, Lord Jesus Christ, King of Endless glory

My Lady Love

Written By: John Bjorkman

My Lady Love

Rest your eyes, my lady love, I want you to ease your mind
Your days are long and you work hard, giving all you have with a smile

You're a woman and oh, such a lady
And won't you let me call you lady love?
You're a woman and oh, such a lady
And won't you let me call you lady love?

I'd like to lie down beside you and just hold you in my arms
To comfort you, yes, and encourage you. This is my dream and my song

You're a woman and oh, such a lady
And won't you let me call you lady love?
You're a woman and oh, such a lady
And won't you let me call you lady love?

There've been times when I've wanted you, oh, but the time just wasn't right
Times to reach out and touch your lips, and not be alone for the night

But for now, let's just be together and allow our flower to grow
There’s a future to see, and I only have me
But what I have I give to you

You're a woman and oh, such a lady
And won't you let me call you lady love?
You're a woman and oh, such a lady
And won't you let me call you lady love?

Won't you let me call you lady love?

Please… let me call you... my lady love.
