"John Calvin Brewer Band set for blues challenge"

"Mixing a touch of old school with a dash of the stratosphere the John Calvin Brewer Band ignites their audience to a fever pitch." - Sentinel Record

"Notes"

"I got to see a great show at Odie's House of Blues a few weeks back. The John Calvin Brewer Band was tearing it up and the energy was positively riveting. John and his fine band fit together like the fingers on a glove, each seeming to know exactly what the others are up to. It's that kind of musical synergy you only find with seasoned musicians who don't let their egos and/or feelings get in the way of the show, and it's somewhat rare."
- Nightflying Magazine - Peter Read

Bio

2011 debut album on the burner, The John Calvin Brewer Band. 2008 Spa City – (Hot Springs, AR) Blues Festival, and the 2010 Festival with multi award winning performer Janiva Magness, playing alongside Mississippi Blues legend Pine Top Perkins, IBC star Grady Champion, international Berklee guitar prodigy Joe Pitts, and also an appearance at PGA golf star John Dalys party in 2009. “ We have pleased everyone except ourselves, so our debut album will be what we want to do, we have great material that has evolved over the past 5 years and we are ready to lay down some killer work” Says Brewer. The John Calvin Brewer Band is one of the most diverse bands you’ve ever seen in action, a song in the bag for everyone and constantly crossing boundaries.
Joining the band in 2009 drummer Steve Avary (Houston, TX), brought his own steady hand and another voice to the band, opening up endless possibilities for the band to have great harmony work. Further expanding the vocal and rhythm section, Miranda Brewer steps to the mic with an impressive portfolio of her own, an accomplished actress, singer, and gunslinger Miranda brings the band even further heart stopping power.
Joining the Band is Special guest (organ/ keys/ vocals) Chicago Bob (Chicago, IL). A seasoned player surrounded by great musicians throughout his entire career, Bob worked some time on the road with Muddy Waters. Watching shows nightly Bob usually found himself a good seat behind Blues legend Pine Top Perkins.
