Bio
John Cathal O'Brien is a singer-songwriter from Dublin, Ireland who now lives in Brooklyn, NY. He spent several years living in California where he played with Bay Area traditional Irish band "Rougues". It was here that he also recorded his first studio album "As I Went Down" with Chuck Gonzales in San Francisco's Mission district. He also played many shows around the city with KC Kozak on drums. John then left the U.S. to travel and spent extended periods of time in Asia, Berlin, France and his hometown of Dublin. New York was where he felt the journey continued and he moved there permanently in the summer of 2014. Constantly writing, he took a hiatus from recording (apart from a lo-fi collection of songs called "Songs on Lafayette" which he recorded in the south of France) but is currently involved a few recording projects and playing shows around New York city.
