Lyrics

on the Bridge

Written By: john david mutch

On the bridge
we met for a brief history of time
for me, it seemed like forever
it was a beautiful spring day
quite simply like no other
I remember her to this day
though many years have passed
both of us watchin’ the 12:30 train
fade out into the black
on the bridge, i wait for you
on the bridge, year after year
always to wonder, never to blame
your abscence whispers my name
on the bridge
Every April i walk to the trestle
the place where we first met
i throw a daisy from up on high
to honour the time we spent
on the bridge, I’ve stayed for you
on the bridge, to this day
I’ve always wondered what became of you
and where you are today
on the bridge
She moved away at the end of summer
i didn’t get her address
i checked the mailbox for 2 1/2 years
lost hope after that, I guess
so now i lean against this cold, steel girder
my memories to keep me warm
i know now that i’ll never see her
again in my arms
on the bridge, i remember
on the bridge, it stays with me
on the winds you’ve travelled oh so far
but always close to me
on the bridge (I wait)
on the bridge (don’t hesitate)
on the bridge (I wait)
on the bridge (won’t hesitate)
on the bridge (I wait)

Mosaic

Written By: John David Mutch

A simple song of life and love and all things in between
makes me sit on back and take note of all that i’ve seen

makin’ a mosaic from all the bits of my life
settle down and raise myself a lost soul from PEI

all my friends & family are key pieces in the middle
givin’ me the answers to all them nasty little riddles

like, who am I?
where am I?
what am I doing here?

when am I?
why am I always just sittin’ here?

a mosaic of time and chance
piece together all this circumstance
love and hate and joy and fear
weaves through my days and months and years

self taught
self got
self denied

self bought
self caught
even got my self applied

these are all the things that I am thinkin ‘bout right now
all the thoughts even those I know that are not allowed

makin’ a mosaic from all the bits of my life
gettin’ done way too fast got to slow down and take my time

makin’ a mosaic from all the bits of my life
settle down and raise myself a lost soul from PEI

a lost soul from PEI

a lost soul from PEI
