The John Dear Mowing club is the musical exhaust valve of a singer songwriter from the marshes of The Hague. Contagious songs take along the witness in humour-full, but secretly nasty world of Melle de Boer. Their debut CD ' lawnmower mind' formed the basis of Americana in the Netherlands.

Biography

John Dear Mowing Club is an alt-folk/’country noir’ band from The Hague, (Netherlands) fronted by singer/songwriter, guitarist and graphic artist, Melle deBoer. The ‘Mowing Club’ released its eponymous début album in 2008 and may be seen as a continuation of the DeBoer-fronted band Smutfish.

With a Kia Besta as a bandbus they toured to numerous clubs in Europe and played at festivals as Popkomm and SXSW.

Melle deBoer's artist-friendship with Daniel Johnston. Melle and Daniel recorded a song in his house in Texas and deBoer and his John Dear Mowing Club backed an supported Daniel Johnston on his 2008 and 2009 tours through France, Germany, Austria, Switserland, Denmark, Belgium and the Netherlands.
