John Franklin

BandFolkAcoustic

My music is acoustical. The style are originals and covers. The covers range from folk, to country, to ballads. The originals are my experiences with life.

Biography

I am an "older" musician who still has the dream of making music that others will draw inspiration from either as a way of relating to their own pain and tribulations, or helping them by listening and just being for a while.

Lyrics

Remember Those Days

Written By: John Franklin

Verse 1

Everyday I wake up wondering
What happened to you.
Everyday I get up thinking
If only I knew.
Why did you go?
Why didn't I know?

Verse 2

It's such a struggle each and every day,
I'm not sure I'll make it.
It's so hard finding all the pieces,
I'm not sure they'll ever fit.
Why didn't I know?
Why did you go?

Chorus

Remember those days together
Of you and me, as one.
Tender memories of pledges forever
Life had just begun.

Souls touching one another
Lost in time, the perfect rhyme.
Many moments spent together
Promising forever.

Verse 3

Many nights talking to you,
Searching your eyes of blue.
Looking for any passion
Or somethin' everlastin'.
Why did you go,
Why didn't I know?

Bridge

You had what my heart could bring
My soul, my wedding ring.
You had everything,
You left me with nothing.

Now look at us,
Our souls no longer trust.
Eyes that once danced for me
I no longer see.

Livin a Lie

Written By: John Franklin

Verse 1

It started out the way love always does,
Full of fire, hearts a buzz, swearing forever.
But little by little, it began to trickle away,
'Til the day it hit him he no longer felt that way.

Chorus

So he keeps on livin a lie, tryin' to get by one day at a time.
Tryin' to find a reason for this empty feelin' inside.
He keeps on livin a lie, thinkin' she would never walk away
And throw away their dreams and all their yesterdays.

Verse 2

It's just not fair to care so much for someone,
Feeling deep down inside that she's the only one.
Then you realize, it's gone too far she never will stay.
She no longer walks along the path that leads your way.

Chorus
lead

Bridge

How can he go on, when everything is wrong,
So much emptiness for so long.
Afraid that she might see every time she looked at me,
This helplessness that I've tried to hide.

Chorus
