John Gastaldo

Born and raised in Southern California, John has a long history of being drawn to the unconventional. This shines through in his songwriting, which is anything but run-of-the-mill. Quite the contrary, it is engaging, genuine, unique, heartfelt, fun, funny, and a little sad, sometimes all in the same song.

Having spent some time as a guitarist in other bands, John decided to put out a collection of his own work in 2012. Notes From a Coin-op Typewriter is the result of a whirlwind of writing and recording early that year.

John has a broad range of influences, the most evident of which on this first batch of songs would be artists such as The Magnetic Fields, John Vanderslice, Ben Gibbard, and the like. However, he is always interested in exploring new music and expanding his own stylistic palette.
