Based on an acoustic recipe made with a lovely side of pop, mixed with a jazzy finish, and hint of funk. John's Midwest roots mixed with Charlie's funky bass, and Jason's style the trio are a force to be reckoned with. Their live show is full of energy and fans singing along.

Biography

Anyone who derides Pop music as simple would do well to listen to John Hull. He adds a much-needed kick of honesty to the genre.

John Hull, an Odessa, MO native attended Missouri State University as a Music major but graduated in an unrelated field. Despite this, he still felt the urge to pursue music so, one fateful August day in 2004, he packed his bags and headed to California to continue his music career.

Hull dove headfirst into the Los Angeles and San Diego music scene where he met bassist Charlie Reid. He approached Reid after watching him play slap-style Jazz guitar at an open mic night. Sometime later, they were introduced to drummer Jason Ford through a friend. Ford proved to be the perfect rhythmic complement to Reid and Hull’s style. Eventually the guitar licks of Kenny Eng were added to the group creating a sound like no other.

John Hull has recorded two demos at Stepstone Studios in San Diego. The demos could easily be passed off as EP’s…they’re that good! Both demos contain Pop songs with strong R&B and Jazz influences. This is no surprise at all that he draws from influences as diverse as Michael Jackson, Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Roots and Led Zeppelin.

Hull and Co. have shared their music with crowds across California, on TV Morning shows and at the San Diego County Fair, a show where they knocked a crowd of thousands off their feet.

He is currently working on a full length album due out in early 2011.
