Winnipeg, Canada-born John Huver is a man of early starts. Currently at 24, he has the maturity and decipline in his drum playing of his peers who are often a decade older. Gigging since he was 13 and in the studio at 17, John has extensive experience in multiple styles: rock, pop, country, folk, blues and jazz throughout his 10 year career.
John joins projects that interest and challenge him. Signing on to the Perms, Scott Hinkson, several cover bands, John brings can vary his style and accomodate many time signatures - all while being able to realize what is best for the song, not his ego. These projects, among others, have allowed John to open up for several touring artists such as Harlequin, Lucas Rossi, and Trooper.
John has toured across Canada and the U.S. His ability to read/write charts and play to a click make him an ideal choice for bands who need a well versed and competent drummer on short notice. John's chops have earned his performances and him several television appearances/showcases with Scott Hinkson on "The Listener" (summer 2009 NBC/CTV), Marcel Soulodre on "CBC" with Leonard Shaw (The Guess Who), and video rotation with The Perms on Much Music.
John continues in many of these projects to date, however he has made a pivotal decision that faces many musicians: Am I ready to take drummer and my career to the next level and accept all that comes with that? The answer is a resounding "YES". John is interested in drumming in the studio environment proving that he can lay down keeper tracks with his well-maintained kits in record time. Also, John is interested in landing a touring gig with larger acts having proven he's nothing but a professional with the artists he's been affiliated with to date.
John Huver is the ideal choice for any band or studio needing a serious drummer. Despite all his experiences and accomplishments to date, the thing that truly sets John Huver apart from the other drummers is his amazing attitude, easy-going demeanor, and 100% commitment to everything he is involved in.
