Anything But Alone

Written By: John Jeffrey Hodges

ANYTHING BUT ALONE

When I go up there ---- high in the air,
Up to the sky---- back home.
I know it’ll be ---- hard to see,
I’ll be anything but alone.

Both my Mom and Dad and a love I had,
And my friend, George Coulton, will be there.
Just to take my hand, lead me up to the promised land,
Anything but alone.

Whoa - oh -oh - oh ---- Goin’ Home,
Anything but ---- all alone,
Though you’re thinkin’ that you’re on your own,
You’ll be anything ---- but alone.

Whoa - oh -oh - oh ---- Goin’ Home,
Anything but ---- all alone,
Though you’re thinkin’ you’ll be on your own,
You’ll be anything ---- you’ll be anything,
You can be anything, yeah, you can be anything,
You’ll be anything but alone.
Anything but alone.

You’ll be anything – Anything but alone……

I Belong in Texas

Written By: John Jeffrey Hodges

I BELONG IN TEXAS

I belong in Texas - with the dust and the plains and oil
Don’t believe I belong in New York City at all

The Yellow Rose she told me - She said “I tried that place myself”
There I found even in the ground it’s every flower for itself
Every flower for itself

What ya think I’m gonna do ‘bout what you know I’m goin’ through

I belong in Texas
With the cows and the calves and steers
Don’t believe I deserve any one of them
Bronx or Brooklyn jeers – Bronx or Brooklyn jeers

I got up in the evening - to watch that sun go down
Looked all around that great big town
But I couldn’t quite find the sun
I looked but I couldn’t get me none

What ya think I’m gonna do about what you know I’m goin’ through

Goin’ back to Texas with the hills and the lakes and streams
You know I don’t believe I belong in New York City
Even in my dreams

Goin’ back to Texas with the hills and the lakes and streams
You know I don’t believe I belong in New York City
Even in my dreams….
Even in my dreams….
Even in my dreams…..

Surprise Me

Written By: John Jeffrey Hodges

SURPRISE ME

I’ve felt regret – I can’t forget
The truth will be revealed and yet …
You ask me what I want
Surprise me.

I’ve had a few well, One or two
Love affairs that I’ve been through
Now you ask me what I want…
Surprise me.

I want music – music I’ve never heard
Never heard before
I need music – music I’ve never heard
In my life

MUSICAL BRIDGE

I need music – music I’ve never heard
In my life

I’m not the kind of man – the kind who needs a plan
I’d rather be right - where I am
And you ask me what I want
You still ask me what I want
Don’t ask me what I want – just
Surprise me.
