Discography
Recently released self-produced solo CD "Stand Up Guy" - judge me as a musician, not a recording engineer.

Bio
Celtic folk in university, post-grunge pop covers at Toronto open mics, rockabilly/punk in the Japanese underground music culture, and then I bought a sequencer.
Listening to the band Cake taught me the value of a good hook, the Beastie Boys showed the importance of a solid rhythm groove, and Beck made me realize that all my influences count. I'd like to say that I got the need to be poetic from Tom Waits, but I'm just humble enough to not quite make that comparison. My lyrics come from writing in Japan for an audience that I knew had no idea what I meant.
My mantra is a bastardization of a Sonic Youth quote I once heard - Rock and roll is all about three chords and how many people you can get to dance.
The songs on this page:
"Jukebox"
I once swore I'd never write a song about music - its like jerking off and thinking about yourself. The radical gearshift at the one-minute mark in this song makes me feel like a cowboy. Yippee-ka-yay.
"Let It Ride"
Doesn't this song desperately need a chorus of black women? And isn't it fun to fantasize about being a total asshole?
"Stand Up Guy"
You should hear the solo acoustic version... Funky.
