Lyrics

Island of hope

Written By: John Leo Carter

Drove away from the city with the stars up in the sky
You were standing in the door way waving me goodbye
Laughter coming from the stairs , Girls at play
Wave goodbye to Daddy he must be on his way

Up ahead in the distance as the crow does fly
The mountains grip the clouds like lovers in July
Hand and hand trough Cotton fields skipping with delight
Looking trough my mirror the City drifts out of site

(Course)
As I'm driving down the road I see visions in my mind
Like a whirlwind passing by I don't know what I will find
Searching searching for a reason to be
follow to river and you will find the open sea
The Sea and me.

I had to sing for my supper on this stage I bare my sole
With words of love life and happiness the truth to be told
In the eye of the beholder paint a picture of the sea
With the northern light shining a light on our dreams

On the Island of hope we will learn to break free
and tie our inhibitions round the old oak tree
For ever lost in your smile we will laugh and dance and sing
If you are in the neighbourhood don't forget to ring

(Course)
As I'm driving down the road I see visions in my mind
Like a whirlwind passing by I don't know what I will find
Searching searching for a reason to be
follow to river and you will find the open sea
The Sea and me.
