Lyrics

When She Cries

Written By: John Luskey

I’ll catch her when she falls
A white knight in a pick-up truck
I’ll answer when she calls
When she drinks out loud and thinks too much
It’s all I can do to hold her together while I’m tearing down her walls

When she cries it rains
I hope I never see her blue skies turn to gray

I’ll go anywhere
If that’s where she needs me to go
I’ll take here there
Where her sunshine will ever glow
It’s all I can do to make her understand

When she cries it rains
When she smiles the sun comes out again
I hope I never see her blue skies turn to gray

If tomorrow she feel a storm outside and the rain starts to pour down
I’ll hold her tight and say it’s aright as the thunder and lightning sounds

When she cries it rains
When she smiles the sun comes out again
I hope I never see her blue skies turn to gray

Fly Away

Written By: John Luskey

I’m flying…. I’m loosing sleep
I’m trying…. My soul to keep

But if I stumble on my words……You know I can feel no pain
And if I try to leave this world
You know I’m commin back again

I’m finding I’m incomplete
I hiding…. I’m obsolete

And if I think you feel me now… you know I am not to blame
I still live and dream somehow…. Don’t wake me in the end

Cause I’m staring down the world from way up here
Nothings gonna change the way I feel
It’s been a long time and now I’m on my own
So I guess I’ll fly away

Sometimes you change what you believe in
The changes cause an inspiration
The story’s over and forgiven
I guess I’ll fly away

Lead

Cause I’m staring down the world from way up here
Nothings gonna change the way I feel
It’s been a long time and now I’m on my own
So I guess I’ll fly away

Cause I’m staring down the world from way up here
Nothings gonna change the way I am
I’d try to fix it all but I’d break it again
So I guess I’ll fly away

Eyes Wide Open

Written By: John Luskey

He was only 8 years old
He asked dad if he ride that roller coaster
I watched him……
Brave enough to take that chance
Jumped his bike on a pine board ramp,
That his friends made … and I was afraid
I watched him fly by Chorus
With eyes wide open and his head up high
He’s rollercoastin’ with his hands up in the sky
I look up to him even though he’s younger
God broke the mold when he made my brother

He was brave enough to move out,
Went to college in another town, and I stayed home….
That’s when he met the love of his life, you guessed it….
Pretty soon she was his wife … I was the best man.
Yea, he married that girl

Chorus
With eyes wide open and his head up high
He’s rollercoastin’ with his hands up in the sky
I look up to him even though he’s younger
God broke the mold when he made my brother
Bridge:
They bought that first house, then started having kids
I wish we were more alike
Cause I want to jump that ramp and rollercoaster through life…..
With eyes wide open_______________

Going on 3 years, I’ve been seeing her
I’m so nervous, never loved like this before
So I called my brother to get some advice
I said, how do you handle 3 kids and a wife
Chorus
And you know what he said;
With my eyes wide open and my head up high
I’m just rollercoasting with my hands in the sky
He takes on everything, there is no other
God broke the mold oh God broke the mold
When he made my brother

Set List

There is nothing typical about John's setlist or shows. He performs by reading the audience. He has been known as the "party band" but also as the intimate storyteller. Throw him in a musical soup and he just makes it work for everybody!
