Old school, still cool,
Yes, it's old school, but it's still cool.
Modern rock and rap are pretty good,
I like some of their tunes,
But I have to admit it's the old tunes
That really get me in the mood.
Billy Stewart, Bobby Vee, and Major Lance,
I turn the radio on,
They put me in a trance,
Mary Wells, the Chiffons, the Marvelettes,
I have to say,
That's as good as it gets.
It's old school, but it's still cool,
Yes, it's old school, but it's still cool.
Bobby Brown, he can still shake'em down,
And T.I., what an amazing sound
Outkast, those guys can really blast,
But, what about those guys from the past?
Talkin' bout Joe Pope and the Mighty Tams,
The Temps and Tops, i listened to during exams,
MC Hammer, you can try him on for size,
And Rick James and Smokey
With their "Ebony Eyes."
It's old school, but it's still cool,
Yes it's old school, but it's still cool,
I can't help it
If I'm a fool,
I'm puttin' my money
On the old school,
It's old school, but it's still cool,
Yes, it's old school, but it's still cool...
