Collide is done very stylishly and mixes a lot of different influences to create a song which doesn't smack of anyone else... I can see some Elliott Smith, The Smiths and some Paul Simon, but John has really papier-mached himself up a pretty inventive little Statement of Mood." - godsofmusic.com

"Say Say is great pop/folk tune with a catchy melody and a real nice vibe. Flows real easy......the playing is excellent and the production is clean and crisp... this is a must download on MP3.com. If you're not into that kind of music, download it anyway just to hear a job well done - Mp3.com

Moorings - garageband.com Song of the Day, "is by far the best track I have heard so far...Everything was very professional and I liked the guitar tone.....It was great.... this is the only song that I have heard on here that I'm actually going to add to my play list - garageband.com

Bio

John Lennon Song Contest and Billboard Song Contest Honoree John McDermot is a US based Irish musician. Although a singer-songwriter, the label doesn't quite fit. He is as likely to use a cranked up Les Paul, (John is an accomplished guitarist versed in several styles), samples, or a drum machine, as he is an acoustic guitar. Whatever fits. John has been a musician as long as he can remember, (he rocked his primary school concert as an 8 year old with Elvis tunes), and has played for audiences in Ireland, England, Germany and the USA. Whether busking on an Irish street corner, or playing the San Francisco club scene, its' all the same to John. He is also a studio engineer and has his own studio where he mixes analog and digital gear to produce his own unique sound. An early demo of his song Collide won an honorable mention at the John Lennon Song Writing Contest. He had number one songs on mp3.com back in the day, and his song "Moorings" was song of the day on Garageband.com.
