"Jamaica Observer"

Ms. Eason's unmistakeable, arresting voice is an interesting blend of huskiness. All who can hear it can appreciate her light but smokey upper range with a slight throaty nasal sound. But as a schooled instrument, embellished by her technical correctness, timing , good diction, phrasing and intonation, it works well. - Norman Munroe

"Jamaica's Big Band"

I am impressed with this performer, whom I believe is a credit to the idiom with a lot of good things to come. - Sonny Bradshaw

"W.C.L.K. Jazz Radio"

When first hear the voice of vocalist Johnnie Eason, I believe old school resonance wil soon encompass one's imagination. Echoes of Sarah Vaughn, Dakota Staton, Gloria Lynn and billie Holiday settled in with me. I enjoy the similar qualities of richness, the phrasing and fullness of delivery that Johnnie Eason's shares with the aforemention legendary ladies of song. I am feeing all od these jazz spirits through Johnnie Eaosn's musical interpretation, pure expression ansd her unique story telling. Johnnie Eason has thoroughly seen and heard the world through laughter, love, pain and profundity, and is here to tell her story. - Renee Williams
