Bio

Life is too short not to take chances, especially on something that defines who you are.  Johnny is the perfect depiction of a risk taker, and fortunately, it’s paid off.

After spending years as a trader for an investment firm, Johnny Alletto decided to make one final trade, to follow his heart and define himself as a professional musician.  Launching his solo career in January of 2015 was a mixture of talent and trust.

Johnny’s formal voice training as a youth carved the path for an eclectic journey across various types of bands and acappella groups.  His classical experience and pop sensibility soon sculpted him into a singer/songwriter who combines a warm, harmony-driven sound with relentlessly contagious hooks.

Lets leap back in time and discover the roots of his passion. Born in Chicago, Alletto grew up singing the tunes of Simon and Garfunkel at family parties.  In 2002, Alletto started up a band with his brother, Frank, called JANK. “Johnny”and “Frank,”get it?  Well…they preferred it to “Frohnny”.  Nevertheless, this is where Alletto transformed from choirboy to rocker.  It wasn’t until he joined JANK that his true musical gift began to flourish. Although the band doesn’t perform as often as it used to, Alletto describes it as “never-ending.”

Most recently Johnny’s career afforded him the opportunity to perform on multiple television stations and with national acts such as Barenaked Ladies, Sister Hazel, Matt Nathanson, Third Eye Blind, and Lifehouse.  He’s performed on premier Chicago stages such as House of Blues, Navy Pier, Taste of Chicago, Guinness Oyster Fest, The World’s Largest Block Party, Lincoln Hall, Schuba’s, Martyrs, Joe’s Bar, and many more. As would any true baseball enthusiast, the performances he holds closest to his heart are singing the National Anthem before the “Cross-town Classics” at US Cellular and Wrigley Field.

Alletto’s new album, Geronimo, scheduled to drop on May 7, 2015, is inspired by his life; leaping head first from one world into another. He was then signed out of Nashville by Vrtuo Interactive and is now back where is heart is with his band in Chicago.   His intimately honest songwriting offers fans a glimpse of what inspired Alletto from the very beginning; risk and reward.
