this joyous quartet is able to start an uncontrolled fire of the energy and tame the crowd by making an electrifying impression by their psychedelic rhytm’n’blues and stage attitude. Can you see how they rock…!? They deliver sound rich in blues riffs and guitar solos and headline-grabbing bass lines. Moving swiftly on, the band is offering lavishly high points of the performance in the shape of some catchy and melodic hits like Wolves in the night or sounding more reggae Mama Ganja that involves almost entire audience and spreads good vibes around. Johnny’s gang is trying to call a good weather on this longest day of the year and at the end of their performance they are playing a song entitled Golden Tibet with a repeated like a mantra phrase sjáðu sólina (see the sun). JOHNNY AND THE REST is a four piece band based in London originally from Reykjavik City in Iceland. Fronting the band Bragi and Keli, two very different lead singers and guitarists. Creating the bass licks is Johann on Bass Guitar and Thor grooves wild on Drums & Percussion. Since the band was founded in 2008 the band has evolved from 70's Blues Rock as can be heard on their debut album, self titled 'Johnny And The Rest'(2008) to a more progressive musical styles, as can be heard on 'Wolves in the Night' 2013 bringing in a bigger soundscape, lighter notes although being aptly true to their nature.
The band played shows in Norway/Oslo, UK/London and all across Iceland including the major festivals in Iceland; Secret Solstice Festival, Iceland Airwaves, Reykjavik Blues Festival, Blue North Music Festival and Nordic Blues Festival.
The two first singles from the new album, “Mama Ganja” and “Wolves in the Night”, have reached the topchart of Iceland´s main radio stations, The National Radio 2 and Radio X-977. The album was as well chosen "Record Of the week" on both stations.
JOHNNY AND THE REST is working on new LP which is shceduled to be released early 2015.
