“We’re like spontaneous combustion,” warns Johnny “Allenz” Edwards the Bands lead singer and guitarist of the Electric Blue Flames. That’s exactly what this band did in front of at least 4,000 fans at the Onset Bay Blues Festival last summer, when the flames added fire to the act. Covering the Jimi Hendrix classic “Foxey Lady” Edwards smashed his guitar on the cement stage, doused it with lighter fluid and set it on fire, then urged the flames to go higher ala Hendrix.

Guitarist / Vocalist Johnny Allenz, a musician described by the New England Blues Society as:

“ A guitarist who like to play music that rips the guts out of his instrument and lays a song out like a cadaver on a cold marble slab “
- England Blues Society

Still working on that hot first release.

Feeling a bit camera shy

Johnny’s been on the music scene for many years rocking the audiences touring
Canada, Maine, the East Coast and eventually going down to the
Mississippi Delta gathering a wide variety of musical styles and interest.
Some of Johnny's influences are artists that started the
Music Revolution in Rockin’ Roll, Country, R&B and Soul.
Throughout his career Allenz has performed and shared the stage
with many of great artists such as:
Johnny Clyde Copeland,“ The Texas Twister “
Mac Odom front man for Room Full of Blues
Rick Derringer of the Mc Coys and Buddy Miles of The Buddy Miles Express
and Drummer /Vocalist
for Hendrix "Band of Gypsies"etc...
His most recent works writing / composing
for live musical performances with New Works / World Traditions
at Brown University RI. After a successful run of Dreamscapes from the
Famished Road, Melting Into Glass an original movement opera
based upon images from Jimi Hendrix' life and poetry. Johnny's exceptional
musicianship and generosity as a creative collaboration continues to inspire us
all towards the development of our new work, Sacrifice of Marrow.
