Bio

“Catchy hooks, clear words, thoughtful message. John J. Cook aka Johnny Alvis is the real deal and ready to take the next step to stardom. 4 out of 5 Eagle Feathers.” (Gus Jordan, Eagle Feather News, (Aug/08), CD Review: Of Love and Life)

Within these hard times that we face today, emerges an artist that delivers a message of hope, peace, love and understanding. With a mixed descent, John J. Cook aka Johnny Alvis, originally from Reindeer Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada, has lived life with many backgrounds. Having walked a complex life, Johnny Alvis sings and writes about what he knows best…the pros and cons OF LOVE and LIFE.

It’s not so hard to imagine that a kid, born and raised into a family of musicians, would end up making music a big part of his life. It seems that Johnny Alvis was born singing his first chords in the delivery room, the scared cries of a baby that were heard by his mother would become a soothing voice recognized by thousands later in his life.

Being heard daily by over 120,000 listeners in over 84 communities, one of MBC Radio’s Most Requested Artists is taking the music scene by storm, after playing solo in over 80 venues in and around Saskatchewan with a couple out of province shows and selling 1000 physical copies of his first record, Johnny has finally teamed up with his singer/songwriter brother, Bill C, on a project to present original materials to the World. With this new band (vocalist and acoustic guitar Johnny Alvis, vocalist and bassist Bill C, drummer Mike ‘Vinnie’ Fiorante, lead guitarist Gerard Wolfe, guitarist Brent Olson) Johnny Alvis and Bill C plan on hitting major stages/festivals to present one of the best up and coming Canadian acts. With both musicians having opened for some major Canadian names and their love for performing and presenting original material, this show is sure to be a Must-See!
