One Great Night I Had A Dream

Written By: Louise d. MacLellan-Ruf

One Great Night I Had A Dream May 2008 LdMacLellan-Ruf

One great night I had a dream.
A dream just for me
In my dream I sing and play
And no one yells at me. No, no one yells at me.

So I swam and I swam to the ocean floor.
Swam with mermaids and the albacore
Swam with the whales which I adore
In my dream, in my dream, in my dream

Then I laughed and I laughed with the hyena
Laughed out loud in Pasadena
Laughed on a yacht in Catalina
In my dream, in my dream, in my dream

Then I flew and I flew to the ice cream shop.
Ordered ten flavors from the bellhop
Licked my cone on a mountaintop
In my dream, in my dream, in my dream

So I sang and I sang with the dragon-flyers
No longer need my pacifiers
Wow the thoughts my mind inspires
In my dream, in my dream

Now I write and I write my bedtime story
Guaranteed to never bore me
Everything is hunky-dory
In my dream in my dream, in my dream, in my dream

Now when I go to sleep
The dark won’t bother me
I create my fantasy
My dreams have set me free. My dreams have set me free.

Rude Is Never Funny

Rude is Never Funny

I sit down at the table to get something to eat.
Napkin in my lap no food between my teeth
Pick up my fork with my right hand.
My feet are on the floor.
I eat my food the proper way,
So my mouth doesn’t spray.

Johnny’s slouched next to me.
His napkins on the floor
His elbows on the table
Which makes my mama sore
He’s talking with his mouth full
Not a pretty sight
I hope he learns to keep it shut
Before his next bite

Johnny grabs a cracker
He doesn’t even ask.
A simple “Please pass the bread”
A very easy task
But Johnny doesn’t think manners apply to him
That’s why he’s got cracker crumbs applied to his chin.

(Spoken ad lib “Now Johnny listen up because you need to hear this. I will ask you to sing it with me later.”)

Refrain
People like you better if you’re kind and polite
Rude is never funny you should keep it out of sight
Always say please and thank you and wait your turn in line
If you do these simple things
Life will turn out fine.
If you do these simple things
Life will turn out fine.

(Spoken ad lib “OK Johnny are you ready? Everyone join in.”
Refrain repeated.)

Dream Your Night Away

Written By: Louise d. MacLellan-Ruf

Dream Your Night Away

Close your eyes little wonder.
Close your eyes and be surprised.
Be surprised little wonder of what you hold inside.

Dreams of rainbows, dreams of wishes
Dreams of ice cream delicious
Dream your night away
Dream your night away.

Close your eyes little wonder.
Close your eyes and you will see.
You will see little wonder possibilities.

Dreams of angels, dreams of stars
Dreams of everything you are.
Dream your night away.
Dream your night away.

Dream your night away little wonder just dream.
Dream your night away little wonder just dream.
Dream your night away little wonder.

Close your eyes little wonder.
Close your eyes and you will fly.
You will fly little wonder into my lullaby.

Dreams of laughter, dreams of love,
Dreams of everything above
Dream your night away.
Dream your night away.
Dream your night away.
Dream your night away.

My Baby Finds Me

Written By: Louise

MY Baby Finds Me

Looking for my baby
Oh where can he be?
Looking at the ocean as blue as the sea.
Keep hoping my baby finds me.
My baby finds me. My baby

Tasting the breeze and the salty air
In my dreams we’re already there.
Dancing with my baby without a care
My baby finds me. My baby finds me.

Swooping and a swooning a hug and a kiss
Who could resist a love like this?

Worlds collide for quite a ride
Find my baby what a surprise
No longer have to fantasize
My baby finds me. My baby finds me.

Waking in the morning lying next to you
Makes everything in the world seem new

(Last Verse)
Find my baby. My baby finds me.
Now we sail away happily.
Cause my baby my baby found me.
My baby found me.

There's A Horse In My Living Room

Written By: Louise d. MacLellan-Ruf

There’s a Horse in My Living Room

There’s a horse in my living room
A frog on my wall
What can I do?
Who can I call?
Dad’s in the kitchen
Mom’s in the den
Who’s there to listen?
My penguin

He waddles over to see the pig.
Eyes the giraffe doing a jig
Sees the birds all fly away everything’s gonna be OK
Everything’s gonna be OK

Refrain
Cause the horse says nay
And the frog ribbitts
The cat meows
The chicken clucks
Cock a doodle doo the cow moos
Everything gonna to be OK
Everything’s gonna be OK
The elephant starts to snore
The dog barks at the door
Who could believe my house is a zoo?
Maybe my kangaroo
Maybe my kangaroo

Now it’s time to say adieu
Please come back and see my zoo
There’s always another day
To listen to the animals say
Listen to the animals say

Repeat refrain twice
