Johnny Botelho

Johnny Botelho

I am a singer/songwriter, solo performer, writing in the folk style with a country influence. My music is a reflection of my life's experiences which most others can relate to. My songs range from upbeat tempo to a slow ballad. I perform using finger style and add to the sound with harmonica.

I am a singer/songwriter strongly influenced by the music of Jonathan Edwards. My ballad style songs resemble the music and sound of James Taylor, who has also been an influence. After performing for over 20 years at restaurants and lounges in Southeastern MA, I ventured into writing and performing my own material. Over the past 4 years, I have played in many coffeehouses in the Southeastern MA and RI areas. I am currently interested in expanding my performing schedule in other locations in the New England area.

I released my first CD called I'm Home in 2004 and am currently working on my second, which I hope to release towards the end of 2008. My current CD is receiving airplay weekly on a college radio station - WUMD Root N' Branch, located in North Dartmouth, MA. I also have a song that is currently on You Tube, under johnnybotelho. It is a song about an old amusement park and is accompanying vintage footage of the park, which was located in N. Dartmouth, MA. My music is also available to be heard on

Set List

Depending on the venue, for original material performance, my sets are for 45 min. to an hour with 2 sets. I also perform cover songs ranging from music by Neil Young, James Taylor, Garth Brooks and many others in that similar style. With covers and originals, I normally play 3 sets.
